1. Dr.Sonika Kushwaha received second prize in oral presentation on, “Ten ways to make Lucknow Cleaner and Greener” on World Environment Day, 5th June 2012, at U.P. State Biodiversity Board, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

2. Dr.Sonika Kushwaha received Third Prize in Photo Competition organized by Uttar Pradesh State Biodiversity Board, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on International Biodiversity Day, 22nd May 2013, Lucknow.

3. Dr.Sonika Kushwaha and Dr.Akhilesh Kumar received First Runner Up Team Member for Biodiversity Hand Print Challenge Award 2015 for spreading the message of Biodiversity Conservation using effective Social Media Strategies instituted by Centre for Environment Education (CEE).

4. Dr.Sonika Kushwaha received Nisbet Award by Waterbird Society, U.S.A., 2016-17 to study “Status and Occurrence of Gulls and Terns in Jhansi and Lalitpur districts of Uttar Pradesh, India with particular reference on habitat utilization”.

5. Dr.Akhilesh Kumar received First Prize in Photography Contest organized on the occasion of World Migratory Bird Day, 2020 by Environmental Information System Resource Partner (ENVIS RP) on Wetland Ecosystem including Inland Wetlands by Salim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), Coimbatore.

6. Dr.Akhilesh Kumar received Second Prize in Photography Competition organized on the occasion of World Wetlands Day, 2nd February 2021 by Environmental Information System Resource Partner (ENVIS RP) on Wildlife and Protected areas by Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, Uttra Khand.

7. Dr.Sonika Kushwaha received Second Prize in Photography Competition under the theme “Bird in Natural Habitat” held during World Wildlife Week (1st -7th October 2021) organized by Assam Bird Monitoring Network , Assam.

8. Dr.Sonika Kushwaha received First Prize in Photography Competition under the theme “Bird Comedy” held during World Wildlife Week (1st -7th October 2021) organized by Assam Bird Monitoring Network , Assam.

9. Dr.Sonika Kushwaha received Prakriti Research Fellowship 2022 by Center for Applied Research and Peoples’ Engagement (CARPE), Aurangabad-Maharashtra.

10. Indian Biodiversity Conservation Society initiated the first World Peacock Day on 15th November 2022 with World Pheasant Society, United Kingdom.
